Nato a Milano nel 1958 ma romano d’adozione, ha iniziato il suo percorso professionale nel 1984 curando l’ufficio stampa di Rete 4, Canale 5 e Italia Uno, per poi passare a seguire le relazioni istituzionali di Fininvest Comunicazioni fino al 1989. Diventato giornalista professionista nel 1990, due anni più tardi – alla nascita del TG5 – è inviato come caposervizio a Bruxelles per seguire i lavori delle istituzioni europee. Nel 1994 diventa poi capo ufficio stampa di Forza Italia. Eletto deputato nel 2001, fino al 2008 è responsabile della comunicazione del gruppo azzurro alla Camera. Nel governo Berlusconi IV è nominato consigliere per l’informazione della Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri. Dal 2008 al 2018 è vicepresidente della Commissione di Vigilanza Rai.

Born in Milan in 1958 but Roman by adoption, he began his professional career in 1984 in charge of the press office of Rete 4, Canale 5 and Italia Uno, before moving on to supervise the institutional relations of Fininvest Comunicazioni until 1989.
He became a professional journalist in 1990, and two years later – upon the establishment of TG5 – he was sent as Head of Service to Brussels to cover the work of the European institutions. In 1994, he became head of the press office of Forza Italia. Elected as a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Republic in 2001, he was in charge of communication for the Azzurro group in the Chamber until 2008.
In the Berlusconi IV government, he was appointed Information Advisor to the Prime Minister's Office. From 2008 to 2018, he was Vice President of the RAI Supervisory Commission.
